Responsibilities:
• Design and deliver engaging and inclusive lessons to students in accordance with the Alberta curriculum
• Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes student well-being, academic growth, and character development
• Implement effective instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students
• Assess student progress, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate records of student performance
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate actively in professional development activities
• Communicate regularly and effectively with students, parents, and other stakeholders to address individual student needs and promote parental involvement in education
Qualifications:
• Alberta Teaching Certification
• Experience or willingness to work in a faith-based educational setting
• Strong knowledge of the Alberta curriculum and effective instructional practices
• Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education Assistant
Details:
Khalsa School Calgary wishes to fill an immediate opening full-time education assistant(s) for the remainder of the 2024-2025 academic year with the potential to continue to the 2025-2026. The successful candidates will provide support to teachers at the lower and upper elementary, as well as junior high level, or as directed by the Principal.
Khalsa School Calgary is a rapidly expanding Sikh school that is in its eighteenth year of operation. The school focuses on academic excellence, while developing and maintaining a spiritual environment that instills the highest standard of moral and humanitarian values. - Communicate effectively with students and prepare them for upcoming Gurpurabs and major Sikh events such as Guru Nanak Dev Ji Parkash, Vaisakhi, Nagar Kirtan, Gurudwara performances at Dashmesh Cultural Centre every last Sunday of the month, and school assemblies every Friday.
- Collaborate effectively with the Tabla teacher and other staff members.
- Create and deliver report cards on student progress twice a year.
- Communicate effectively with parents about student performance and progress.
- Participate in school events and committees.
- Provide indoor and outdoor supervision as required by administration.
