Ms. Baninoor Kaur

Kindergarten

My name is Mrs.Baninoor Kaur. This is my eighth year at Khalsa School Calgary. My past teaching experience includes teaching grade one, grade nine social studies and serving as the Assistant Principal. I took some time away from KSC and worked as a Vice Principal in Indigenous Education. I am happy to be back at KSC and excited to teach Kindergarten. I hold a Bachelor of Arts and at Bachelor of Education with a specialization in early childhood from the University of Calgary. I also hold a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership and Management from Royal Roads University. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband, stand up paddleboarding, hiking, volunteering, travelling and taking my dogs for walks.

Ms. Navneet Sandhu

Kindergarten

My name is Navneet Sandhu and this is my second year teaching Kindergarten at Khalsa School Calgary. I graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Education in 2022 and worked for a short period as a substitute teacher with KSC and the Rocky View School Division. As a teacher, I am committed to ensuring the success of my students by creating supportive and positive environments where students can take risks and contribute to community learning without the stigma of being wrong. I am passionate about creating learning activities that reflect the diversity of my students and aim to stimulate curiosity and engagement in my students through hands-on, activity based learning opportunities. In my free time, I enjoy hiking and being outdoors, and spending time with my family and my energetic dog.  

Ms. Shaela French

Kindergarten

My name is Shaela French and this is my 3rd year teaching at Khalsa School! I am very excited to be teaching kindergarten this 2023-2024 school year. My personal goal as a teacher is to create a room full of engaged life-long learners. My educational background consists of two bachelor degrees both from the University of Calgary. My first degree is in Psychology and my second degree is in Education. I have a strong passion for mental health in addition to teaching students. In my free time I love doing yoga, painting, going to the mountains, and spending time with my friends and family. 

Ms. Prabhveer Sandhu

Kindergarten

My name is Mrs. Prabhveer Sandhu, and the 2024-2025 school year is my second year working at Khalsa School Calgary. I’ve been teaching Kindergarten since 2019 and have a strong background, with an M.Sc. degree in Microbiology and a B. Ed. I’ve got four years of experience teaching elementary years in both BC and Alberta. My passion is to make learning fun and engaging for kids. Creating a positive and nurturing classroom environment is the most important to me, and I’m dedicated to making sure that each and every student feels secure, respected, and supported. I also believe in the importance of building strong relationships with parents. Collaboration between home and school is essential for the success of our students, and I am committed to fostering open communication and partnership with parents to support the growth and development of each child.I truly believe that this year will be an amazing and enriching experience for all of us. I’m looking forward to an awesome year ahead!

Ms. Japjeet Dhugga

 My name is Ms. Japjeet Kaur Dhugga. The 2024-2025 school year will be my first as a kindergarten teacher at Khalsa School Calgary. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Teaching, with a minor in Mathematics. As a former student of KSC, it has been great getting to familiarize myself with the KSC community again. It is exciting to be a part of the teaching staff and to grow alongside the school in my new role. My passion in teaching is to incorporate Mathematics and Fine Arts together to create hands-on and engaging learning experiences for all students. During my free time I enjoy painting landscapes, doing nature photography, and reading a good book!

Ms. Gurkaran Sandhu

I graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Education in 2022. I worked as a substitute teacher for a few months before joining the team at Khalsa School Calgary! I am very excited to start my teaching career as a grade 1 teacher. As a teacher, I am committed to providing students with a positive and welcoming learning environment. I prioritize developing and implementing a range of lessons that maximize the levels of engagement from students. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Miss Carol here! This is my first year teaching at Khalsa School but I have already taught for two years in Calgary. I spent most of my productive life in teaching, 15 years to be exact, as as an ESL Teacher overseas. I left teaching last year to be a Recreation Therapy Assistant for a senior
home. This year, I have proven that, “Once a teacher, always a teacher!” I am back with great enthusiasm to eventually settle and rekindle my passion in teaching. I can’t wait to start this school year with my 1st graders!

Mrs. Vini Aujla

Grade 2/Learning Leader Division 1

I was born and raised in a small town in British Columbia and later moved to Edmonton to complete my post secondary education at the University of Alberta.  I completed my Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and a Bachelor of Education.  I have been teaching for 9 years and have been at KSC for 3.5 years.  As a teacher, I strive to create a positive learning environment by focusing on building connections with students and creating hands-on learning opportunities.  Currently, I reside in the lovely community of Chestermere with my family.  When I am not busy being a mom and a teacher, I enjoy reading, long distance running and working out. 

Ms. Teresa Huang

Welcome to Grade 2B at Khalsa School Calgary! I am very excited to be a part of your child’s learning this year and to get to know each and every one of you. My name is Teresa Huang. I was born in the States. I grew up in California and moved to Calgary when I was 14. I am newly married. I do not have any children yet. 

I hold two degrees. I completed both my Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education at the University of Calgary. I have been teaching for 4 years. I was an intervention teacher for 1 year and this is my first teaching at Khalsa School. I have taught Grade 9 math and science and Grade 1. I look forward to teaching grade 2. My goal is to provide a safe and caring environment and to get students excited for learning!

Mrs. Jagjeet Kaur

Grade 2

Hello, I’m Jagjeet Kaur Nahal, and I will be teaching Grade 2 until December while covering Samantha Belanger’s maternity leave this year. I graduated with a Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary in May 2024 and found my calling in teaching through volunteering at the Gurdwara Sahib, where I led kids’ classes and camps. My previous experience includes substituting as a Punjabi and Educational Assistant at Khalsa School from 2019 to 2021 and more recently in various schools across the city with the Calgary Board of Education. I believe connections are at the heart of teaching. As an educator, my goal is to forge connections by creating a positive and safe environment where students feel welcomed, respected, and cared for.  Further, I aim to provide them with the structure, skills, and opportunities they need for continuous growth and success—mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. In my spare time, I enjoy learning Santheya, working with kids, sharing Sikhi parchaar, and playing sports such as basketball, volleyball, and gatka.

Ms. Harnoor Brar

My name is Mrs. Brar and I am thrilled to step into the role of Grade 3 teacher again this year. I hold a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Education, with my education completed at the University of Calgary. I began my teaching career at Khalsa School a decade ago, primarily working with elementary students. This will be my third year back at Khalsa School and my second year teaching Grade 3. I’m passionate about sparking curiosity, developing skills, and guiding my students on their academic journeys. It’s a joy to be part of the Khalsa School community. 

Outside of teaching, I cherish spending quality time with my husband and two boys, especially when we’re out exploring nature and enjoying the great outdoors.

Mrs. Seema Khatri

Grade 3

My name is Seema Khatri, and this is my second year at Khalsa School. I am thrilled to be the Grade 3 teacher this year. I have a Master’s degree in Chemistry and have taken additional courses at the University of Toronto, York University, and the University of Calgary. With over 15 years of experience working with children, I bring a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to the classroom. After a rewarding year teaching Grade 1, I am eager to help Grade 3 students develop more advanced skills. I have taught in various settings, from traditional classrooms to community programs, which has deepened my passion for teaching and my commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive classroom. Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and my cat, Mug Cake, as well as meeting new people.

Mrs. Navdeep Khehra

Grade 3

My name is Mrs. Navdeep Khehra, and this is my third year teaching at Khalsa School Calgary. I earned my Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Calgary in 2014 and began my teaching career shortly thereafter. With a decade of experience in education, I have also worked with Palliser Regional Schools, where I taught grades 2-5. I am married and have two wonderful daughters. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, exploring various trails, and spending quality time with family and friends. I am looking forward to the upcoming school year and am committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment while creating lasting memories with my students.

Mr. Connor Miles

Grade 4

My name is Connor Miles I am a returning teacher at Khalsa School it is my second year as a full-time teacher, and I have had several years of experience working with other schools within Calgary. I have worked for two years teaching English as a second language in Spain and in Vietnam and am thrilled to have the opportunity to impart my knowledge and experience to our ESL learners in Khalsa school. This year I will be teaching my specialization of English and Language Arts to our grade 4 classes.  

Mrs. Harjit Dhanjal

Grade 4

Teaching is not only my profession, but my passion. Believe it or not, I think about my students and how I can help them succeed even when I am at home or on vacation! I enjoy every moment with my family whether we are in the mountains hiking or traveling to places like England, Mexico, America and India.

I was born and raised in Kuwait, and after graduating from high school I went to India where I attended college for Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education degrees. I moved to Canada in 2005 and attended the University of Calgary to get my Alberta Teaching Certificate.

 I have been at Khalsa School Calgary since 2008 in a variety of positions such as- an Education Assistant, Office Assistant, Substitute Teacher and a teacher. Previously I had taught grade 4 for five years. I taught grade 3 last year and now this is my seventh year where I will be teaching Grade 4 math and science. 

Ms. Alia Haasni

Grade 5

I am truly honoured to be here at Khalsa School for the fifth year. This year I am a Grade 5 teacher. I am passionate about teaching and believe that establishing positive relationships with the students, staff and families of Khalsa School is as valuable as teaching the curriculum. I studied in Canada with a Bachelor of Journalism, Honours degree, a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Education degree in Second Language Learning. I have lived in Calgary for the past eight years after moving from Ottawa, Ontario. I have also spent time in Toronto, Seattle, Windsor and northern Ontario. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy going to the gym, reading, spending time with my family and spoiling my cat. I believe that being grateful, maintaining a positive attitude and always thanking God for everything is the key to success in all aspects of our lives. I  do my best to remind myself, my students and those around me of this everyday.

Ms. Yashika Sandhu

My name is Yashika Sandhu, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as your child’s 5th grade teacher for this academic year. I am deeply passionate about teaching and consider it a true privilege to guide and support your child’s educational journey.

A bit about my background: I graduated from Delhi University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree, followed by a Bachelor’s of Education from Indraprastha University. My academic path continued with a Master’s in Physics from Madurai Kamraj University. Each step of my education has strengthened my commitment to teaching and enriched my understanding of how students learn and grow.

My approach to teaching is centered around creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where each child feels valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. I am dedicated to fostering a classroom atmosphere that promotes curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning.I am looking forward to working closely with you and your child to make this a successful and enjoyable year. 

Mrs. Suneet Sandhu

Grade 6

My name is Mrs. Suneet Sandhu and this is my eighth year of teaching with Khalsa School Calgary. I have nearly fourteen years of teaching experience with schools in India, as well as with Rockyview School Division. I am very passionate about making a difference by encouraging all my students to be lifelong learners who can solve problems through critical thinking and communicate their learning and passion in an effective, productive and creative manner. I believe that everybody is a superstar and the light shines through when you work hard and follow a growth mindset. Other than constantly exploring opportunities to improve my pedagogy, I am passionate about reading mystery novels, painting, travelling, and attending cultural and spiritual events. I enjoy spending time with my family and cat. I also try my hand at maintaining an environment friendly garden. 

Ms. Jyoti Kahlon

I am an Alberta certified teacher, having received my Bachelor’s Degree in Education in
English and Special English and Masters in Science degree in Ecology and Environment, a Post Graduate Certificate in Educational Research from the University of Calgary along with a certificate Course on Indigenous studies titled Indigenous Canada from University of Alberta. I have over three decades of teaching experience in India, Dubai (UAE), Muscat (Oman), and Canada. Before joining Khalsa School, I
worked in a private school in Calgary and later got hired by CBE, where I taught English
& Social Studies to Senior & Junior High students. It is my seventh year of teaching grade 6 at Khalsa School Calgary. My main objective as a teacher is to create an inclusive, safe and respectable learning environment for my students and I respect their diverse talents and ways of learning. I have two adult children and a dog. When I am not teaching, I enjoy yoga classes,
tending to my plants and taking care of my dog. I also like travelling a lot, so I visit my
son in BC and my daughter in the U.S. during holidays

My name is Mrs. Rajvinder Bedi, and I will be teaching Grade 7 Science and Math this year. This is my fourth year at Khalsa School Calgary. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from the University of Manitoba.Before joining Khalsa School, I worked as a substitute teacher and taught Grade 8 Math and Science on a term contract at St. John’s High School in Winnipeg. I also taught full-time at Khalsa School, covering Grade 6 for four months and Grade 7 Math, Science, and Social Studies for a full year. Over the past four years, I have focused on teaching Grade 7 Math and Science.My time at Khalsa School has been a period of significant professional growth and has allowed me to embrace my cultural values. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of this wonderful school.I was born and raised in Winnipeg and have lived in Calgary for the past eight years. In my free time, I enjoy painting, drawing, watching movies, and spending time with my family, especially my 2-year-old son. This summer was quite busy for me; I attended two weddings, traveling to Winnipeg and Vancouver in July. I also had the chance to do some sightseeing while I was there..

Ms. Reena Obhi

Grade 7

My name is Reena Obhi and I am very happy to be teaching grade 7 this year. This is my fourth year at Khalsa School Calgary, and I have been in education for 19 years. This year, I will be teaching math and social studies. I have taught mostly middle school for the majority of my career and I especially have a passion for teaching grade seven. I was born and raised in Canada. I received my BEd from the University of Calgary, and before that my BA from the University of Manitoba where I also grew up.  My goal is to inspire students to be the best version of themselves. I want my students to be confident in their own abilities, and motivate them to be successful. I believe a respectful and safe environment is essential to a successful school year. When I’m not teaching, in my spare time I like to run, travel, bake, and spend time with my friends and my family. 

Mr. Gagan Purewal

My name is Gagan Singh Purewal. I have been teaching for 6 years now, but this is my first year at Khalsa School Calgary. I have a Bachelor of Arts with a Major in History and a Bachelor of Education. I also have a Post-Grad Certificate in Special Education. I just moved to Calgary from British Columbia, with my family. In my free time I enjoy reading, watching sports, TV shows and movies. I also enjoy spending time with my family exploring the outdoors. I am a big Harry Potter and Star Wars fan. I’ll end with one of my favourite quotes from Harry Potter: “We must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy.” -Albus Dumbledore

Mrs. Vivian Hoang

Grade 8

My name is Vivian Hoang and this is my second year teaching at Khasla School Calgary. I was born and raised in Calgary. I am a recent graduate from the University of Toronto with a degree in Master of Education in Language and Literacies. My first two degrees are from the University of Calgary where I received a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Education. My teaching philosophy is: “Creating spaces that welcome, celebrate and promote diversity, so students from all walks of life feel encouraged to succeed.” My passion in teaching is rooted in supporting ELL, as I grew up as an ELL student myself. During my free time I enjoy pilates, biking, badminton and spending time with my friends and family!

I am a Mathematics and Science teacher. I have a Master’s (Honors) in Physics, B.Ed and Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Education. This is my sixth year of teaching Mathematics at Khalsa School, Calgary. I have been teaching Physics, Science and Mathematics to Senior and Junior High students at various institutions in Canada and Internationally for 27 years.

Ms. Prabhjeet Aulakh

Grade 9

I have been teaching for over eighteen years, and it gives me immense pleasure to see my students broadening their horizons and developing their repertoire of skills to make this world a better place. I have both a Bachelor of Science, and a Master of Science (Chemistry) degree, along with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from the Punjab University, Chandigarh, India. After upgrading my education from the University of Calgary, I received my Alberta Teaching Certification. Prior to joining Khalsa School Calgary, I have worked with the Calgary Catholic School District as a student teacher and the Calgary Board of Education in the school years 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 respectively. While teaching at KSC, it gives me great satisfaction to see my students trying their best in learning, and helping other classmates in achieving their goals. During my teaching experience, I have taught a variety of Science and Mathematics courses to both undergraduate and school students.

My name is Dylan Hill and this will be my fourth year teaching at Khalsa School Calgary. I have previously taught Physical Education and grade 4 at Khalsa during this time. I have Bachelors of Education from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Mount Royal University. I am born and raised Calgarian and try to spend the majority of my time outside skiing, running, biking, and camping! I look forward to providing an inclusive and safe learning environment this year!

Ms. Parampreet Kaur Gill

Punjabi/Gurmat Teacher

I have been teaching for almost 22 years in various fields such as educational coaching, tutoring, and volunteering in school and camp settings.  I earned my bachelor’s, majoring in Mathematics and Science, and a Master’s in Statistics. I have been tied with Khalsa School since 2013 as a volunteer and it’s been a great pleasure. As of 2015, I have been working in the Punjabi and Gurmat Department in different roles including as a Punjabi and Gurmat Instructor and Lead. I look forward to guiding the young minds of children and being a part of their educational journey! 

Mrs. Parminder Khara

My name is Mrs. Parminder Kaur Khara. I have been at Khalsa School since September 2011. I am B.Sc. in Biochemistry and Bachelors in Homeopathic medicine and surgery from Guru Nanak Dev Homoeopathic Medical College Ludhiana Punjab India. I always had a great passion for Punjabi language and Sikh History. This is my 12th year at Khalsa School Calgary. I love working with my awesome students and staff. Other than teaching, I like reading, listening to Gurbani, walking, hiking and going to Sikhi camps. My goal as a teacher is to help each child to read and write Gurmukhi so that the students can live in Gurbani and fulfil the purpose of life. I look forward to seeing the progress that every student will make in our classroom over the year!

Ms. Navjot Kaur Sidhu

Hello, I’m Navjot Kaur, and I’m passionate about the art of teaching. My journey in education began in 2007 when I embarked on a fulfilling career as an educator in beautiful British Columbia. I obtained my teaching certificate under the esteemed TRB (Teacher Regulation Branch) and have been dedicated to nurturing young minds ever since.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching in various fields, each one contributing to my growth as an educator. And now, I am thrilled to start a new chapter in my teaching career at Khalsa School. It’s my first year here, and I couldn’t be more excited about the journey that lies ahead. Outside the classroom, I’m an avid nature enthusiast. Hiking and exploring the natural wonders that surround us is a passion of mine. I’m looking forward to inspiring and guiding my students to reach their full potential while embarking on this exciting adventure at Khalsa School. Tabla Teacher

I moved from Dubai U.A.E. in 2000. I grew up listening to Keerrtan (the recitation of the Sikh Holy Scripture) as well as playing Tabla with various keertanies from a young age. I was attracted to the rhythmic sounds of the Tabla. I have been with KSC for the past 10 years as a Tabla Instructor.
I have been playing Tabla for the past 19 years and currently I am a disciple of world renowned Tabla artist Ustad Tari Khan. 

Ms. Pavneet Kaur

Harmonium Teacher

I am blessed to pursue my passion as a Music teacher for more than a decade now. I did my Doctorate (Phd) in Music from Rajasthan,India , Masters and Bachelors in Music Honours from Delhi University, India. Apart from the regular studies,  I did another Bachelor’s degree in Music from Allahabad University, India. I have also completed certifications in Gurbani Sangeet. I joined Khalsa School in 2019 and this is my 4th year. I love spending time with my family , reading motivational stories and playing with my son. I strive to create Musical compositions and love teaching the art form. According to me, Kirtan is an important part of the education which helps in the overall development of the child.

At Khalsa School , I take Harmonium Lessons from Grade 1 – Grade 9 .

Ms. Melanie Richards

Student Services Coordinator

I was born in Calgary, though I have lived in Alberta, British Columbia and Quebec. I completed my undergraduate degree in Education at Bishop’s University in Quebec. Returning to Calgary, I completed my teaching degree here at the University of Calgary. I am an Alberta Certified Teacher and this is my 13th year of being a teacher (this is my 11th year teaching here at Khalsa School Calgary), and I have taught a variety of grades at the elementary school level, with the majority of years teaching Grade 6. At home I have two children, as well as two large dogs. As a family, we love to go hiking and camping, trying new foods, and spending time together.What I love most about coming to work each day is to help students to reach their potential.

Mrs. Poonam Ghanghas

Resource Teacher

I have been a part of the Khalsa School team since 2009 (in different roles). I hold a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Education degree from Kurukshetra University (India). I am an Alberta certified teacher and have been in my current role as a Learning Support Teacher with Khalsa School since 2015. I believe that teaching is a process of lifelong learning from your students. You learn new strategies, new ideas and new philosophies as you work out ways to flex and adapt your teaching styles to fit your students’ individual needs. At home, I have a beautiful daughter who keeps me on my toes. I spend my leisure time gardening, going for walks and watching Disney movies with my daughter.

Graduating with a Bachelor of Education and Master of Arts in English, I began my teaching career in India. Upon immigrating to Canada, I began working at Khalsa School Calgary in 2008. For the past 15 years, I have undertaken a large variety of positions, from teaching assistant to technology manager. After obtaining certifications in library management, web design, and IT management, my permanent role transitioned to the IT Coordinator and Library Technician. I continue to lead projects and committees around the school — growing my passion for the students and school community every year. 

Mrs. Sandeep Sheera

My name is Sandeep Seehra. I was born and raised in India. I moved to Canada in 2012. I did my Bachelor degree in Fashion Designing from Punjab, India. I also did my Education Assistant diploma through Bay River College, Calgary in 2020. I joined Khalsa School Calgary in 2021 and have really enjoyed my journey so far. My philosophy of education is that all children are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. At home, I have two children who always keep me busy. I love reading, cooking, gardening and spending time with my family.

Mrs. Melissa Zaseybida

Principal

This will be my 12th year working at Khalsa School Calgary starting  in the spring of 2013. I started as   a kindergarten teacher for four years and then was a grade 2 teacher   for eight years, as well   as was the Student Services Coordinator for   a year. In addition to being a homeroom teacher, I also held the position    of the Division 1   Learning Lead.    I am excited to take on the new opportunity of being the Principal of Khalsa School Calgary for the 2024-2025 school year and to  help lead the amazing staff and students to another successful    year at KSC. Previously to KSC, I worked with the Calgary Board of Education. I received my Masters of Teaching in Queensland, Australia and my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Edmonton, Alberta. I grew up on a farm east of Edmonton and am very fortunate to have traveled to many places around the world. I have lived in Australia two times, as well as Edmonton and Toronto. I have traveled across Canada, to many cities across the U.S.A., throughout Australia, as well have traveled New Zealand, Japan, Malaysia, Vanuatu and Mexico. Outside of work, I am a busy mom of two amazing teenage daughters who fill our family time at the hockey arena, horse barn, volleyball courts, and the ski hills on top of our love of traveling!

Mrs. Navinder Kaur

Assistant Principal

I completed my Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Calgary and I have been with Khalsa School Calgary since April, 2012. I taught grade 2 for several years before moving into the Student Services Coordinator role. I am very proud of all the strides KSC has made to get to where it is now. Witnessing and being part of our growing community has been a true joy. Outside of being an educator, I have two young children that keep me very busy. I look forward to my new role, serving as the acting Assistant Principal.

Mrs. Kulvinder Kaur

Lead Administrative Assistant

I grew up in a small city in British Columbia where I completed my education. I relocated to England after getting married, and after four years there, my husband and I returned to Canada and settled in Calgary.

I have always had a strong desire to work in a school setting, and by the grace of God, I’ve had the good fortune to do so since 2005 as an administrative assistant at private schools. Khalsa School Calgary offered me a position as administrative assistant in 2015. I consider myself extremely fortunate to work with the wonderful Khalsa team, parents, and students. Observing kindergarteners at the beginning of the year and watching them develop into young people is remarkable.

In my spare time, I like to learn new things, explore new places, travel, listen to Gurbani, go on hikes with my family and friends, and watch films about real-life events.

Mrs. Ranjit Kaila

Administrative Assistant

I have been a part of Khalsa School Team since August 2021. I was born and raised in Punjab India. I moved to Calgary in 2010. I have a Masters’ degree, a Bachelor of Education degree from Punjab University and an Administrative Professional Certificate from Bow Valley College. I have worked as an Administrative Assistant at Bow Valley College, University of Calgary and at Guru Amar Das Niwas Nursing Home Association. I love working at Khalsa School and helping students and parents as an admin. I am a mom of twins who keep me super busy at home. In my free time, I enjoy reading books, watching movies, hiking and travelling. 

Mrs. Ravinder Boparai

Controller

I have been working at Khalsa School since 2014 and I have enjoyed every moment of it and am proud to be part such an incredible team.

I am a CPA (Certified Professional Accountant), CGA (Certified General Accountant) with CPA Canada. I also hold a Master’s degree and Business degree in business and Finance from Delhi University, India. Along with this, I also hold a Post graduate degree in computer applications. I have more than 17 years of Canadian experience in diverse finance and accounting with multiple companies. In my current position with Khalsa School Calgary Educational Foundation where I work as a Controller, I am accountable for leading a team and providing leadership on all accounting processes, procedures and systems. My career started with my education from back home where I served as a lecturer for 3 years at the Delhi University before moving to Canada. I have a strong passion to work in the education sector and I am very proud to be a part of Khalsa School, where our day starts with Ardas and Shabad Kirtan and we instill our students with values of Sikhism, along with academic studies. At home, I am busy mother of three lovely kids and have a wonderful husband. I enjoy spending time with my family and love to go vacation with them. I also enjoy watching movies and going on adventures with them. Along with this, reading Gurbani and spiritual content is also something I love to do.

Accounting Technician

My name is Mathew Alias. I have been working with Khalsa School Calgary since2017 . I have a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and my specialisation is  in Finance.My Bachelors degree is in Commerce and  Specialized in Accounting and Taxation.I really enjoy  working with Khalsa School and I am proud to be part of this family. I enjoy  spending time  with my family and friends.I like travelling and Fishing and my other interests are Social services and  Charity Activities.
